Returning in 2022!
We are pleased to announce the return of a promotional partnership with the Sun Valley Music Festival in 2022. The Sun Valley Music Festival and Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival are committed to bringing art and culture to everyone in the Wood River Valley. This year, artwork from the Sun Valley Music Festival’s season imagery—past and present—will be on display at the Sun Valley Arts & Crafts Festival as part of the collaboration. These collections of photography from 2020 and 2022 were done in partnership with local photographer, Steve Dondero. One of them used special lenses, lighting, and shot angles to capture the craftsmanship and beauty of some of the instruments you’ll see onstage at Sun Valley Music Festival performances, from perspectives you couldn’t otherwise experience (even from inside the instruments!). The other utilized a “stop-action” photography technique to capture Festival Orchestra musicians and their instruments in performance scenes that exemplify the joy in creating (and sharing!) music.
Hear the instruments from these photography projects in action throughout the Festival’s summer performances. The concerts are free; details are available at svmusicfestival.org/events. Or browse more of the collection and purchase prints (and other merchandise) at the Festival’s Welcome Center and Store, open concert days during rehearsals and from 5-8 PM, located at the Sun Valley Pavilion.

We are seeking volunteers to help with the 2023 Festival. Booth sitters are vital in helping give breaks to our talented and amazing artists throughout the day. We have 3-hour shifts each day (or shorter). Sign ups will open up in the spring of 2023.
You may also email us at info@sunvalleyartsandcraftsfestival.com. We'd love to have you involved!
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why did the Sun Valley Museum of Art decide to stop presenting the Festival after 2018?
In 2019, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts rebranded their organization as the Sun Valley Museum of Art. Before that, they refocused their mission to be on arts education, thus allocating strategic resources toward that goal. As such, they decided to make a shift after the 2018 Festival, but still wanted it to continue in the same fashion. The Museum of Art and Altitude Events Group reached an agreement to turn over management of the event moving forward. For more information, please visit the SVMOA website or call the SVMOA at 208-726-9491.
2. What is Altitude Events Group?
Art Daves is the owner of Altitude Events Group, LLC and started managing the event in 2019. Art has spent the past 27 years working exclusively in event and sports management. He has helped produce a large variety of events ranging from large scale multi-sport projects including the Summer Olympics and Ted Turner's Goodwill Games, to professional cycling stage races to made-for-TV events, to national marketing programs and charitable fundraising events. In early 2015, Art started his own event production consultancy in nearby Hailey, ID called Altitude Events Group, where he first contracted with the Sun Valley Center for the Arts to help produce the annual Wine Auction and Arts & Crafts Festival. The intent of Altitude Events Group is to provide the same high-quality Festival in much the same fashion as the SVCA, while staying true to the Festival's traditions and artistic integrity.
3. Will the schedule be the same going forward?
The Festival will continue to take place during the second weekend in August over three days, Friday through Sunday.
4. Will new management mean different art and artists?
Artists will apply to the Festival using the same process the SVCA used since 2006, which is through Zapplication. Altitude Events Group understands that the quality and diversity of The Festival is one of its core strengths. To continue that tradition, the rigorous jury process has continued with the change, with local artists gathering each spring to select from the hundreds of artists who apply to the show each year. The quality and standards of the show have not been compromised, as the Festival continues to produce the usual mix of new artists and familiar faces from around the country.
5. How can I find out more about Altitude Events Group?
For more information, for sponsor inquiries, to apply to the show, or to volunteer for the Festival, please email info@sunvalleyartsandcraftsfestival.com or call 208-720-5095.
